Fresh white cabbage stewed with herbs, carrots and onions will serve as an excellent side dish and will help out on fast days.

How to cook stewed cabbage:
1. Peel the cabbage from the top leaves, chop. If the head of cabbage was large and the cabbage came out long, cut it 3-5 cm long.
2. Salt the cabbage and rub it with your hands to make it softer.
3. Peel the onions, cut into cubes.
4. Peel carrots, wash and grate on a coarse grater.
5. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan.
6. Fry the onion in hot oil until golden brown.
7. Add the carrots to the onion and fry together for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
9. Add cabbage to vegetables. Mix. Fry for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
10. Pour the cabbage with water, cover. Simmer over low heat until the liquid has completely evaporated for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
11. 5 minutes before cooked cabbage stewed with vegetables, salt and pepper to taste, add bay leaf.
12. Greens, rinse, dry, finely chop and sprinkle with cooked stewed cabbage.
